MoHUA conducts massive campaign on garbage-free cities post-Diwali

NEW DELHI: Post Diwali, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India initiated a massive awareness campaign across India on segregating wet and dry waste at source towards achieving the goal of garbage-free cities. The campaign was titled ‘Swachhata Ke Do Rang’ and ‘Hara Geela Sookha’ as the campaign’s call to action; highlighted on the minimum two-bin segregation at source. 

Driven by Swachh Bharat Mission, over 75 lakh students, citizens, community groups, and organisations took part in this campaign led by over 3,500 urban local bodies across the nation. The campaign triggered participation through ground action for sanitation, waste management, and reduction of waste that goes to dumpsites. 

The country’s cleanest city, Indore has showcased remarkable effort in conducting a cleanliness drive across the city post-Diwali.
