SHILLONG, Meghalaya: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma, on June 15, launched an Integrated Web Portal of the Meghalaya State Public Services Delivery Commission at the Yojana Bhavan. M S Rao, Chief Commissioner, State Public Services, and T Dkhar, State Informatics Officer, were present during the launch.

In his address, CM Sangma highlighted that the state administration has taken various measures for the implementation of citizen-centric governance across all the departments. This Integrated Web Portal aims to ensure citizen centric governance and enhance the efficiency of delivery mechanisms.

He added, “All 188 services should be made available at the earliest on the portal,”

The ‘Meghalaya Right to Public Services Act, 2020’ is the principal act to look after the delivery of notified public services to the citizens of Meghalaya within a specified time limit, including the liability of the government servants in case of default.

The portal is designed keeping in mind the convenience of the citizens. It also encompasses a dashboard which will allow the officials and commission to check the status of applications at each stage.

As per the statement of an official, citizens residing in areas having poor network connectivity can access the services provided by the portal through Common Service Centres.

CM Sangma also announced the launch through his twitter account. He posted, “Launched the integrated web portal of the Meghalaya State Public Services Delivery Commission. The portal will greatly complement the implementation of the Meghalaya Right to Public Services Act to improve the overall delivery mechanism of the state government.”
