Gurugram, Haryana: The officials from the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) informed on Tuesday, August 27, that in the last nine days, the civic body has filled about 2076 potholes on the internal roads of the city.
The corporation has also established a helpline for commuters and residents. On this helpline, they can complain about the pothole-riddled stretches of road.
The Department of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) tasked 22 officers, including the ULB director, to inspect all roads in the district. These officers were tasked with submitting their findings to the department.
Ashok Rathee, Chief Engineer, Department of Urban Local Bodies, was responsible for inspecting the Gurgaon city. He will then submit a detailed report regarding the condition of roads in the city.
Earlier, residents were complaining that even the newly built roads were damaged in the heavy rain this year. Residents of the new sector were worst affected as the many master roads were also etched with potholes. After this year’s rain, these potholes turned into sinkholes. Although officials did some patchwork, it was not able to withstand the might of the heavy showers.
