NEW DELHI: As per an official order issued on Wednesday, August 28, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will be holding the ward committee elections across all 12 zones on September 4, 2024.
These elections will be held through secret ballot as mandated under the Delhi Municipal Corporation Regulations, 1958. Councillors have been asked to file their nominations with the municipal secretary by August 30.
Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi will be selecting the presiding officer for conducting these ward committee elections.
Ward committees play a crucial role in forming the standing committee—the highest decision-making body of the city corporation.
