MYSURU, Karnataka: With an aim to win the prestigious ‘Swachh’ city title, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has asked its citizen to support the urban local body by providing their valuable feedback. The request was made since the survey to ascertain the cleanliness status of cities is underway as part of the Swachh Survekshan 2023.

Swachh Survekshan survey is being conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. The survey began on August 7 and will conclude on August 16. It is important to note that securing 600 marks is essential to get the title of the country’s cleanest city, and citizen feedback is a crucial aspect of the survey.

Ashaad-ur-Rahman Shariff, Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation, said, “We want Mysuru to get the cleanest city status once again. This can be possible only when the city gets 600 marks in the survekshan. The Centre has sought citizens’ feedback which is also part of the assessment. The citizens can participate and offer their comments by scanning the QR code and visiting the website. The citizens need to reply to the questions after registering their names, State and city.”

Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur Mutt launched the civic body’s Swachh Survekshan-2023 citizen feedback campaign on mutt premises in the presence of the City Mayor Shivakumar on Thursday.

Last year in 2022, Mysuru was ranked the cleanest city in the 3 lakh to 10 lakh population category. In population above one lakh category, Mysuru city was ranked eighth compared to last year when it was in 15th place.

In 2016 the city was declared the cleanest city in the country. Later Indore overtook the city and has been winning the title of India’s cleanest city for six consecutive years.
