MUMBAI: Registrations of housing properties in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) increased by 35 per cent year-on-year basis and reached 7,556 units in September, according to Knight Frank. In comparison to the numbers of pre-COVID period in September 2019, the registrations for September 2021 increased by almost 87 per cent.
Knight Frank said that 94 per cent of the property registrations in this month are related to fresh sales. It added that the share of houses in more than Rs 1 crore segment has increased to 49 per cent in September 2021 as compared to 40 per cent in June 2021 and 30 per cent in April 2021.
Shishir Baijal, Chairman, Knight Frank India, said that the buyers have remained active even after the roll back of stamp duty incentive. Improved pandemic response and conducive factors of multi-year low property price and lowered home loan interest rate have also played an important part.
