HYDERABAD, Telangana: The Department of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) is to launch clean-up drives in Banda Cheruvu and RK Puram Cheruvu in Malkajgiri and Chinnarayuni Cheruvu and Kotha Cheruvu in Alwal in coming weeks.
Earlier on Monday, April 17, these lakes were inspected by Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, MA&UD; Mynampally Hanumanth Rao, Malkajgiri MLA; GHMC officials; V Mamatha, Zonal Commissioner, Kukatpally; and Srinivas Reddy, Zonal Commissioner, Secunderabad along with others.
Special Chief Secretary of MA&UD informed through Twitter that K T Rama Rao, Minister for MA&UD, Government of Telangana, had instructed to undertake clean-up drives in these lakes. Special Chief Secretary posted, “Visited Banda and RK Puram cheruvu in Malkajgiri and Chinnarayuni and Kotha cheruvu in Alwal along with MLA Hanumanth Rao M and ZC Secunderabad @zckukatpally & staff from @GHMCOnline, @HMDA_Gov & I&CAD as per min @KTRBRS advice. Will take up cleaning of these water bodies asap.”
