JAIPUR, Rajasthan: T Ravikanth, Principal Secretary, Department of Local Self Government, Rajasthan, has directed all the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state to dispose of pending applications seeking building permission, online lease deeds, online name transfer, online trade licenses, and resolve fire NOC cases within a week.
Directives of the Principal Secretary came during a review meeting with all commissioners and executive engineers of urban local bodies in Rajasthan. He also asked for information regarding door-to-door garbage collection while instructing ULB officials to ensure GPS tracking of waste collection exercises in cities.
Inefficient property tax collection has been another issue discussed in the meeting. He said the tax collection has neither been up to the mark nor within the prescribed norms. He asked civic bodies to achieve the target set targets. He added, “Officials must ensure that the properties are surveyed to find which are not paying UD tax on time, so that there is no cut in grants from the Government of India to the urban local bodies.”
Ravikanth also gave instructions to improve cleanliness so that the ranking of the ULBs could improve in this year’s Swachh Survekshan exercise. He also asked to ensure that the amount allocated for the purpose is spent within the prescribed rule.
