LUDHIANA: The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (LMC) organised a lucky draw on December 5, 2018 for the residents who cleared their dues through digital payments in the past one month.
Zone A office of the LMC organised the draw. JK Jain, additional commissioner of Municipal Corporation awarded prizes to the nine winners of the draw.
LMC issued a statement which said that the facility was well received by the public. To encourage the city residents, the civic body will continue to organise a monthly draw for all those who pay bills online or by swiping their debit cards for making payments. The statement said that more than 40 per cent taxpayers in the city have adopted digital mode of transaction and this trend is increasing by each day.
Jain further said that the residents did not have to pay any hidden charges or surcharge for making these payments. He added that the digital cards of the City Bus Service are being made to encourage more residents to adopt digital mode of payment.
