NEW DELHI: In an eviction drive to free government land from unauthorised use, the Land and Development Office (LDO) has cleared a 15-acre land area in Delhi’s Civil Lines area. This reclaimed land will be used for public infrastructure development and urban planning projects.
The primary motive of the eviction drive in the Civil Lines area was to remove illegal encroachment on government land. Although the department met with some resistance from the occupiers of government land, the department removed the encroachment smoothly with the help of the local law enforcement officials. With this drive, the department aims to create space to construct public infrastructure, such as parks, transportation networks, and other public facilities.
