KURUKSHETRA, Haryana: To ensure that the city does not face waterlogging in the upcoming monsoon, the various department officials, along with the city magistrate of Kurukshetra, inspected the ongoing work of cleaning drains and rivers in the city.
Officials from the Department of Irrigation, Haryana Sarasvati Heritage Development Board (HSHDB), Public Health, Department of Engineering, and Thanesar Municipal Council inspected their respective drains.
Earlier, Subhash Sudha, Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies and Thanesar MLA, had directed the local body officials to ensure that drains and rivers in their area are not clogged. He cautioned the officials that any negligence in the cleaning work would warrant action. In line with this, the officials conducted field inspection to monitor the status of monsoon preparedness works.
