NEW DELHI: In view of the deteriorating condition of COVID-19 in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister, Delhi, called a meeting of top officials to discuss the government’s readiness in tackling with the pandemic again. Discussing the measures that need to be taken, Kejriwal said that the state government will soon double the rate of testing for COVID-19 infections in the state.
“Delhi has seen a marginal rise in the number of cases in the last few days, though other numbers are in control. In the coming days, we will double the testing for the coronavirus testing,” Kejriwal said at a press conference. He added that it is a good indication that the people of Delhi have become confident that they will be able to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic soon, but it should not lead to complacency. People must continue wearing masks and follow social distancing while avoiding travel as much as possible. Kejriwal said that the government will provide pulse oxymetre and oxygen concentrators to households.
He urged people to not shy away from getting tested. “It is very important to keep yourself and others in your vicinity safe. If you feel there are symptoms of Covid-19, get yourself tested. If you don’t do this, you will unnecessarily put others at risk,” said Kejriwal.
