BENGALURU, Karnataka: The Government of Karnataka plans to split the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Pallike(BBMP) into three to five corporations to increase the productivity and efficiency of the civic body.
G Parameshwara, Home Minister, Government of Karnataka, stated that in order to improve the administration, dividing the civic body into smaller corporations would be a viable option.
He said, “London is an example of a city with multiple councils that add high productivity to the civic body. Let us see how it goes.”
Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka, met with the cabinet ministers to discuss several issues about the city and its infrastructure woes along with the move.
