BENGALURU: The Government of Karnataka approved the budget of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on May 7, after a month of its proposal. The budget was approved through the Urban Development Department (UDD), Government of Karnataka.
On March 31, the BBMP had uploaded Rs 10,484.3 crore budget on its website. The Corporation subsequently sent the same for approval to the UDD on April 8. The UDD on May 7, approved the proposed budget with an additional outlay of Rs 377.5 crore – taking the outlay to Rs 10,861.8 crore. However, the UDD has mentioned that this additional outlay can only be utilised if the BBMP generates additional revenue.
