JAMMU/ SRINAGAR: The first phase of panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir held on November 17, 2018 recorded over all 74.1 per cent voter turnout. Kashmir valley’s overall voting percentage remained at 62.1 per cent.
Udhampur district of Jammu division recorded the highest voting percentage of 83.6 per cent in the first phase of polling. It was followed by Doda district with 80.8 per cent.
In Jammu division, the polling percentage of 74.1 percent is recorded in Kishtwar district, 78.2 per cent in Ramban district, 80.0 per cent in Kathua, 78.9 per cent in Rajouri and 78.7 per cent in Poonch district.
Kupwara district had the highest voter turnout of 79.1 per cent in Kashmir division. It was followed by Kargil with 70.9 per cent polling. Bandipora district recorded 55.7 per cent voter turnout, Baramullah 69.1 per cent, Ganderbal 11.9 per cent, Srinagar 21.8 per cent, Budgam 30.1 per cent and Leh recorded 59.7 per cent.
