LUCKNOW: To enhance the water availability within the waterless districts of Bundelkhand, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has requested assistance from Israeli authorities. Israelis are internationally known as experts in waste water use, therefore Israel might be helping Uttar Pradesh (UP) authorities by producing water, drip irrigation and superior agricultural options.
Dr Mahendra Singh, Minister of Jal Shakti, UP, said that Memorandum of Understanding has been inked with Israel and they will draw up a detailed plan of initiatives and their implementation according to the areas of cooperation. Dr Singh added that Israel being an expert in water management will help Bundelkhand in water conservation and providing piped water to all districts within two weeks as India has compelling relations with the country. In the meantime, programme implementation will happen within two years, however it could get prolonged relying on the necessity of the world.
