INDORE: As a constituent part of the ongoing Clean Air initiative, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) will install air-pollution sensors at 19 junctions across the city. This initiative aims at monitoring the real-time quality of air and the effectiveness of measures planned to contain air pollution
This project will be undertaken by IMC along with traffic police and control board under the Smart City initiative. The list of areas has been released where these sensors will be installed. To name a few of the lot, Satya Sai Square, Vijay Nagar Square, LIG Square, Palasia Square, Footi Kothi Square, etc. Rishav Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, Indore Smart City Development Limited, said that these pollution sensors are low-cost monitoring sensors, which will be located at 11 locations other than the 19 junctions.
“These sensors would cost less than Rs 1 lakh and will also be used for reading particulate matter mass in dense and high temporal resolution measurements, added Gupta.
