INDORE: Indore airport takes a step towards passenger safety by installing a mobile command post vehicle which can be used by the rescue team during emergency situations or accidents.
These are sophisticated and self-sustained vehicles equipped with all possible advanced facilities required for safety during any accident or major incident at airport, said Aryama Sanyal, director, Indore airport.
At a cost of Rs 14.06 crore for as many airports including Indore and Bhopal, Airport Authority of India (AAI) has purchased 32 mobile command post vehicles. Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Rajkot and Vadodara airports that have received mobile command post vehicle, in western region.
Special training will be imparted to operational officers to use the mobile command post vehicle. These vehicles have GPS, satellite phones, conferencing facilities, all emergency handling equipment, portable signboards, shelter tent, binoculars, first aid box and smart board, as well as other emergency related infrastructure.
