LONDON: India urged the developed world on Tuesday, to increase the scope, scale, and speed of climate finance for the developing world in order to help the developing world combat the threat of climate change. Bhupender Yadav, Minister of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, Government of India spoke at a summit on climate finance and technology in London and emphasised the accomplishments of India in the area of climate action on “mission mode”. The advanced nations must reach the USD 100 billion financial goal because adaptation finance is crucial for underdeveloped nations. Additionally, the three crucial Ss of scope, scale, and speed must be addressed by this climate finance, according to Yadav in a virtual conversation from New Delhi. Climate change is not some impending catastrophe; rather, it is a reality we are already experiencing. India is operating in mission mode and mostly using local resources to implement adaptation and mitigation measures.
