JABALPUR: In order to provide improved passenger services, Indian Railways is encouraging cutting-edge technology and digital capabilities in its operations. Many passenger conveniences, including Wi-Fi, have increased. The improvement in passenger amenities at railway stations reflects the region’s development.
The services provided include 57 lifts at 21 railway stations, 25 escalators at nine railway stations, six battery operated carriages at three stations and easy access to the platform, especially for those who are differently abled or elderly. At 519 railway stations, all lights are LED, and a total of 925 CCTV cameras are installed at 30 stations, providing an effective surveillance system. Passengers have access to coach and train status information via the Coach Guidance System at 114 Platforms of 37 stations and Train Information Display Boards at 46 stations. Free high-speed Internet Wi-Fi has been installed at 410 railway stations, and 21 bottle crushing machines have been placed at 19 stations for the comfortable and environmental friendly platform.
