NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati researches are now working on the development of robots which will be deployed in the isolation wards of COVID-19 positive cases. The robots will be delivering food, medicine and other essentials and would also dispose off waste. It will help minimize human contact and hence spread of the virus. The research team has said that the prototypes would be ready within two weeks and could be customised as per the requirements of the hospital.
One robot would be used for delivering the essentials and the other would be used to dispose toxic wastes.
IIT-G will be establishing an advance centre for research and laboratory to further study the pandemic COVID-19.
