HP addresses water shortage in drought-prone areas

KANGRA: Bikram Singh Thakur, Industries and Technical Education Minister, Himachal Government, has announced that every rural household of Rakkar, Paragpur and Paragpur block program would be given drinking water connections under the ‘Har Ghar Nal Jal Yojana’. These areas have been identified as the drought-prone areas of the state and to ensure that adequate water supply is maintained across these regions, the state government has allocated a fund of Rs 16.3 crore.

Under the ‘Har Ghar Nal Jal Yojna’, the state has allocated Rs 5.41 crores to lift drinking water scheme in various other districts like Lower Bhalwal in Jaswan Paragpur division, in which some parts of Rori Kodi and Nangal Chowk Panchayats along with the aforementioned areas. The scheme would see rural households equipped with drinking water taps.
