SOLAN: Bandaru Dattatreya, Governor, Himachal Pradesh, has requested the Red Cross campaign to utilize its resources to promote sanitation and riding single-use plastic from the society. He also urged people of the state to associate with the campaign which has been promoting humanitarian activities across India for approximately a century now. The governor also promoted natural farming methods in his address at the inaugural function of the district-level fair of the Red Cross Society at Nalagarh. He said that fertilizers and other chemical enhancers damage the environment and stressed on natural farming as water, air and food had become polluted due to the excessive use of chemicals. Also, speaking at the event, Dr Sadhna Thakur, wife of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, urged the members of Red Cross society to adopt one government school and develop it as a model for health and sanitation for other schools of the society.
