Haryana signs MoUs with e-commerce firms to boost MSMEs

CHANDIGARH: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department, Government of Haryana, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with three e-commerce companies including eBay, Power2SME and TradeIndia. Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, said that from now on, products manufactured by MSME of Haryana will be able to reach the global market, and artisans producing traditional handlooms of the state will also get a reasonable price for their craft this way.

According to a government spokesperson, these e-commerce companies will conduct training workshops in all the districts of Haryana, to educate entrepreneurs about the benefits of e-commerce and listing their products online. Dushyant added that signing of the MoUs is a step towards ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and giving a boost to the MSMEs and talented artisans of the state.

Vijayendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Haryana Industries and Commerce Department, said that in the current era, it is important for MSMEs to adopt new and strategic approaches, for they are becoming the backbone of the economy.
