CHANDIGARH: Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated 60 Amrit Plus Sarovars across the state under the Amrit Sarovar Mission.
The inauguration occurred in Dult village, Tohana assembly constituency in Fatehabad district.
Out of the 60 Amrit Sarovars, three are in Bhiwani district, six each in Charkhi, Dadri and Jhajjar, seven in Nuh, 31 in Fatehabad, four in Hisar and one each in Kaithal, Palwal and Panchkula district. The Amrit Sarovar Mission, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims at developing and rejuvenating 75 Amrit Sarovars in each district as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, focusing on water conservation.
In his address after the inauguration, CM Khattar urged the people to ensure efficient use of water and avoid its wastage.
According to an official statement, Haryana has successfully constructed 2,078 Amrit Sarovars under this mission.
