GURUGRAM: Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister, Haryana, launched the state’s first electric three-wheeler ecosystem project in the state on Monday, August 16. The project ‘Parivartan’ is a joint effort of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, Gurugram Traffic Police, Haryana Transport Department, and Smart E Company.
This initiative will help in phasing out diesel and CNG autos, which will be replaced with economical and environmentally friendly electric autos. Khattar also inaugurated two other projects, including a water supply project of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development and a waste to energy plant for Sonepat and Panipat. Moreover, the Haryana Roadways (HR) has started trial run of its first electric bus, which was inaugurated by Mool Chand Sharma, Minister of Transport, Government of Haryana, from the General Bus stand in Gurugram on Sunday, August 15. Rajiv Nagpal, General Manager, HR, informed that the buses will operate between Faridabad and Gurugram on trial basis. These buses will run on a two-month trial period. Only then a decision on incorporating those into the system will be taken.
