CHANDIGARH: Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana, announced the constitution of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) on Tuesday, June 9. PMDA is being constituted to enable swift execution of the district’s integrated development plan.
Khattar during the press conference said that the authority will work with the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran, the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, and the Panchkula municipal corporation. It will work to ensure availability of infrastructure and other key facilities to people.
The CM also talked about the state government’s plans to make Panchkula a major hub for industrial investment. Various developmental charges and taxes have been slashed by almost one-third in Panchkula to woo the investors. Khattar added that the state government is in regular touch with industrialists to attract investors from the pharmaceutical industry in Panchkula and Barwala.
