GUWAHATI: The Municipal Corporation of Guwahati has launched flying squads who will be penalising city residents and tourists in the city for littering and spitting on roads, footpath, road dividers or any other public place.
A total of six flying squads were deployed by the Guwahati Development Department on July 9. These squads will also be addressing various issues incurred by public like garbage cleaning and drain cleaning in the corporation limits.
The squad will also be responsible to maintain the garbage collection system of the city. The squad will be equipped fully to clear out garbage dumped in open spaces and they will be moving in different areas of the city.
