GURUGRAM: People visiting Sadar Bazar area in Gurugram will no more struggle for parking space as two multilevel parking facilities are soon to come up near the area. Rao Narbir Singh, Haryana Public Works Department Minister, on Friday, September 13, laid the foundation stone for the two parking facilities.
The parking lots built at a cost of ₹150 crore will be a six-level parking facility which will have a combined capacity of 1,275 cars. The parking lots will be constructed in Kaman Sarai near Mahavir Chowk will have a capacity to park 1000 cars. The built up area of the upcoming facility will be 8,332 sqm. The parking lots will house shops, banquet halls, a three-screen multiplex, a gymnasium and a food and badminton court. It is estimated that the construction cost of the project will be recovered in a span of 15 years.
Another six-level parking facility which will be constructed towards the west of Sadar Bazar on the Old Railway Road will have a capacity of 275 vehicles. The parking facility will have three levels of underground parking space and will be built up on an area of 3,186 sqm. The facility will house a showroom, retail shops, badminton court and food courts.
Singh said that both the parking projects would be financially viable and the cost incurred would be fully recovered. He further said that these would be ready in two-year time and will be helpful in dealing with the problems relating to parking space in city. The facilities will also be helpful in reducing traffic jams caused due to vehicles parked on road sides.
