GURUGRAM: A detailed project report (DPR) for Gurugram metro was approved by Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana, on May 27. The new 31.1 kilometer metro link outlined in the DPR would be constituted of 26 new stations and would be operational by 2025. Several state government agency officials were also present in the meeting in which the report was outlined and approved by the Chief Minister on May 27.
According to the official release shared by the government, the total estimated cost of the entire project is expected to be around Rs 5,126 crore. The proposed metro link will start at Huda City Center, pass via Subhash Chowk, Sector 10, Sector 23, Palam Vihar and Udyog Vihar and then connect with the Cyber city metro station.
“Civil works for the project are expected to commence in June next year, and the metro will be commissioned by June 2025”, said V Uma Shankar, GMDA CEO. “It was also decided that track integration between the Metro Corridor and the Rapid Metro would be considered for continuous operations,” Shankar added.
