Gujarat’s mega vaccination drive against COVID-19 achieves landmark

AHMEDABAD: In the mega vaccination drive against COVID-19 organized by the Government of Gujarat on Friday, September17, over 18 lakh eligible citizens were inoculated across the state by 07:00 PM. An official release from the state government had said that Gujarat’s health department has been continuously monitoring the drive and trying to persuade people to take the jab against the virus. On Thursday, September 16, Gujarat government had announced its target to vaccinate 35 lakh people across the state on Friday. The state’s aim was to ensure 100 per cent vaccination in Gujarat’s villages. Moreover, over 100 ‘Deendayal Aushadhalaya’ (dispensaries) have been made operation from Friday to provide adequate health care services to the state’s working class and poor families.
