GANDHINAGAR, Gujarat: Incessant rain in Gujarat for the past two days has left 16 dead, while another 15,000 people were rescued from the flood-affected areas and relocated to safer locations. On Wednesday, August 28, the rain entered its fourth consecutive day.
The team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the State Disaster Response Force, the Army, the Air Force, and the Indian Coast Guard have been engaged in carrying out relief and search and rescue operations.
Of the people rescued and moved to safer locations, 3000 were from Navsari, and 1000 each were from Vadodara and Kheda. With this, the total number of people who have been rescued in the last two days—Monday and Tuesday—has gone up to 15,000.
