GANDHINAGAR: According to an official document, the Government of Gujarat will be allocating Rs 5100 crore under the scheme of Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shehri Vikas Yojna for development work in municipal corporations and municipalities. Urban Development and Urban Housing Department of Gujarat had submitted a detailed proposal to the Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, which has been approved.
The amount will be allocated to Gujarat Municipal Finance Board (GMFB) and Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GUDM), which will then spend the money for various developmental works. GMFB will be allocated Rs 3806 crore, while GUDM will be handed over Rs 1294 crore towards this end. Of the total amount, Rs 3345 crore will be allocated to the municipal corporations, Rs 1628 crore will be given to the municipalities and Rs 127 crore to urban development authorities.
