AHMEDABAD: In an official release, the Government of Gujarat stated that they have decided on allocating Rs 5100 crore for development works in municipal corporations and municipalities. The money will be allocated under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhaya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana for financial year of 2022-23.
Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel has approved the detailed allocation planning proposal submitted by the state’s Urban Development and Urban Housing Department. The money will be disbursed to civic bodies through Gujarat Municipal Finance Board (GMFB) and Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GUDM). Of the total amount, municipal corporations are set to receive Rs 3345 crore, municipalities will receive Rs 1628 crore, and urban development authorizes will receive Rs 127 crore.
