Greta Thunberg named for Time’s ‘Person of the Year 2019’

NEW YORK: Time magazine on Wednesday, November 11, has named the 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg as the ‘Person of the Year’ for the year 2019. The young activist is the youngest person to be selected for the accolade. Time has described her as the “most compelling voice on the most important issue the planet is facing.”

Edward Felsenthal, editor-in-chief, Time, in a recent interview told that her contributions to the movement have been far-reaching and effective in mobilising millions of people across the globe to come together in demanding better policies to ensure a healthy Earth for the future generations.

Important global personalities like Hilary Clinton have expressed gratitude and congratulated the young activist over her nomination for the coveted title.
