The concept of green vertical gardens has been adopted by the Delhi Metro at the stretch of the Blue Line. The closely and intensely fitted rows of the potted plants are mounted and raised up, hence giving a concrete pillar the look of a vertical garden and increasing the green cover of the capital city. The transformation of the eight drab looking pillars along Mandi House and Pragati Maidan metro stations into beautiful green vertical gardens is a first of its kind initiative by the Delhi Metro. The green transformation of the pillars is to curb pollution in addition to beautifying its surroundings.
