Green Line to be extended soon

Green Line which was started in two phases in 2010 and 2011 will get extended up to 12km more

NEW DELHI: The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety has given its node to start the passenger operation on the Green Line’s Mundka-Bahadurgarh corridor, the Delhi Metro Rail Corp (DMRC) said on Friday.

The total 15-km track of Mundka-Kirti Nagar/Inderlok Green Line now will get extended up to 12 km more from Mundka to Bahadurgarh.

“The exact date of opening of this corridor will be intimated after compliance of the same by DMRC,” the transporter said in a statement.

There will be a total of seven elevated stations, of which four will be in Delhi and remaining three in Haryana. These will be Mundka industrial Area, Ghevra, Tikri Kalan, Tikri Border (Delhi) and Modern Industrial Estate, Bus Stand, and City Park (Haryana).

This will be the third metro route on entire network that can be accessed by passengers from Haryana. The other two lines are Violet and Blue which are connected by two different parts of Haryana i.e. Gurugram and Faridabad.

After the completion of this corridor, the entire Inderlok-Bahadurgarh section will become 27 km long.
