GUNTUR: The Guntur Municipal Corporation has started carrying out disinfection drive in contaminated zones after two positive COVID-19 cases found positive in Mangaldas Nagar area in city.
To prevent further spread of virus, GMC has decided to spray disinfectants in all its 36 colonies and they have requested the citizens to stay at home. To carry out the task, GMC has formed 62 different teams to spray bleach powder and disinfectants. The teams carrying out the drive also cleared waste plants and drainages.
C Anuradha, Commissioner, GMC requested people to cooperate with the corporation officials and local police during the lockdown. Commissioner also said the corporation will take special preventive measures in and around Mangaldas Nagar to contain the spread of pandemic.
