NEW DELHI: During India’s Presidential tenure of G20, a total of four meetings of the Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group (ECSWG) will be hosted by the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India.
ECSWG meeting will discuss pressing issues, including ‘Promotion of Blue Economy along with Coastal Sustainability’, ‘Restoration of Degraded Lands and Ecosystems’, ‘Enhancement of Biodiversity’ and ‘Strengthening of Circular Economy’. The first meeting of the ECSWG is scheduled for February 9 to 11, in the IT capital of India, Bengaluru.
On this occasion, a two-day national conference will be organised by the Mysuru Zoo in association with Central Zoo Authority (CZA). A total of 59 participants, from 25 states and union territories, are expected to participate in the conference. The conference to discuss “Master Planning and Building the National Capacity for species Management & Conservation Breeding.”
A review meeting was held between Leena Nandan, Secretary, MoEFCC and Vandita Sharma, Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka, on January 21, 2023, at Bengaluru to oversee the preparedness and coordination.
