NEW DELHI: Four states have begun the dry run on Monday, December 28, to test the preparedness of the country before the rollout of COVID-19 vaccine. The end-to-end dry run will be carried out for two days in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh; Rajkot and Gandhinagar, Gujarat; Ludhiana and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab and Sonitpur and Nalbari, Assam.
The listed beneficiaries of each state, registered on the Co-WIN application of Government of India, were sent text messages to inform them about time and place of their COVID-19 vaccination. This is a mock drill to administer the vaccine shots at designated centres.
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that a detailed checklist has been prepared and shared with the authorities in the aforementioned states for conducting the dry run. Government of Punjab has completed the exercise at 12 sites in two districts.
