CHANDIGARH: The Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has decided on November 22, 2018, to convert 99 parks and open spaces into playgrounds. The horticulture department of the MC’s engineering department had placed the matter before the committee.
The committee has also decided to frame a policy and explore the possibilities for providing grounds for different games.
Drinking water and toilet facilities will be provided to avoid any kind of open defecation and in-sanitation near the playgrounds.
The committee members have suggested to upgrade the quality of the gym equipment. The committee accorded approval to adopt a uniform policy regarding the provision of open-air gyms.
