AMRITSAR: The Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) of the Municipal Corporation Amritsar (MCA) approved 75 out of 82 proposals of civil work in Amritsar on November 27,2018.
The development projects comprise installation of bore wells, cemented flooring of streets, installation of road gully chambers and interlocking tiles.The MCA has decided to spend Rs 20 crore on these projects.
Karamjit Singh Rintu, Mayor, headed the meeting which was attended by Raman Bakshi,Senior Deputy Mayor, Deputy Mayor Yunis and committee member councillorsDamandeep Singh and Gurjeet Kaur.
Rintu said that the MCA had been making efforts for the city’s facelift. A large number of projects will begin as the committee has approved for the same.
He added that the corporation will keep a check on the time limit and specifications of the works and try to address most of the civic issues of the city with these projects. Several other projects will be introduced soon.
The Mayor claimed that the House was committed to provide basic facilities to the residents.
He further said, “We are focusing on water supply, sanitation and road infrastructure. The face of the city would get a makeover after the completion of these projects. We assure time-bound completion of the projects. No area or locality will be ignored.”
