Electric Vehicles to be deployed for garbage collection.

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) minister K T Rama Rao announced on Thursday 31, May that electric vehicles will soon be deployed on the streets of Hyderabad for garbage collection while inaugurating bus shelters at Khairatabad and Kukatpally.

“Electric Vehicles will replace existing garbage collection vehicles in a phased manner. The government is striving hard to make city pollution free. Around 3000 vehicles belonging to state along with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) vehicles will be replaced by electronic vehicles” said the minister.

The civic body, an official said, they have signed an agreement with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (ESSL) to execute the project on pilot basis.
