BENGALURU: The Government of Karnataka has decided to not conduct any urban local body elections for six months. The Urban Development Department in a letter informed all district deputy commissioners and other officials concerned that it is necessary to postpone the election of president and vice-president of urban local bodies because of the COVID-19 situation.
The government said it is not keen in holding taluk and zila panchayat elections as well in the current health environment.
