HYDERABAD: Dry run of COVIN (COVID-19 Vaccine Intelligence Network) software will be conducted in two states of Telangana and Rajasthan. The software would be used for planning, monitoring and supervision of immunizing people with COVID-19 vaccine. Officials of Department of Health, Government of Kerala, said that COVIN would be put to use as soon as the vaccine for COVID-19 is rolled out.
Dr G Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health, said that the software would be used to send message to the beneficiary about the location of vaccination, time and other details. A certificate will also be issued after the vaccination process in completed with the same details. A central team with three members had arrived in the state for conducting the dry run to know the issues in the execution of process and the feedback will be sent to the centre. Urban Primary Health Centre, Boggulakunta, is selected to conduct the dry run of the software.
A list of beneficiaries is also prepared in the state as the vaccine will be first provided to health workers, front-line people from other departments, people of more than 50 years of age and those with pre medical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.
