NEW DELHI: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is gearing up to resume transit services within the city observing safety norms once the order from the authorities finalizes the date.
Sources have confirmed that on-ground teams have been briefed about the safety norms, preparedness and precautions that are to be taken whenever the service resumes. These include staff like train operators, sanitation workers etc., who have been sensitised about the new safety norms in the prevalent conditions.
Delhi Metro has prepared thermal screening and social distancing norms in anticipation of resumption of services. Stickers have been pasted on seats for social distancing; arrangements for installing hand sanitiser dispensers are a couple of measures that the Metro has adopted as of now. Further, protocols are being developed by the DMRC since the past few weeks.
The upper tier of DMRC officials have already resumed office since the lockdown was eased on 17th May onwards.
