NEW DELHI: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), has awarded the first civil contract for the development of Tughlakabad- Aerocity corridor as a part of the Phase 4 project. The contract involves the construction of a metro corridor from Sangam Vihar to Saket-G and would also include the development of four elevated metro stations, namely, Sangam Vihar, Ambedkar Nagar, Saket- G and Khanpur- Devoli. A major new addition would be the inclusion of a double decker viaduct, which would be a metro viaduct and an elevated six-lane flyover from Sangam Vihar to Ambedkar Nagar. This would make the Mehrauli Badarpur Road signal free.
The Union Cabinet has approved the development of three out of six proposed corridors of DMRC’s Phase 4 project. These include RK Ashram to Janakpuri West (25 stations), Tughlakabad to Aerocity (15 stations) and Maujpur to Mukundpur (6 stations).
