NEW DELHI: Saurabh Bhardwaj, Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) highlighted that the board has started preparations to remove the foam from Yamuna River to give a foamless river to allow the devotees to offer prayers on the occasion of Chhath Puja.
He said the board is regularly monitoring the pollution level downstream of Okhla Barrage with the help of Okhla Sewage Testing Laboratory which is an ISO and NABL- accredited laboratory. Bhardwaj said that the test data shows that water quality in the river has improved under the current government.
He later added that, “We are committed to cleaning the river by 2025 as pledged by our Chief Minister while respecting and protecting the religious rights of all.”
