NEW DELHI: The Delhi Jal Board will use Internet of Things (IoT) devices to automate 116 sewage pumping stations in the city, preventing sewage runoff and allowing timely discharge into sewage treatment plants.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of connected devices that send data to a central platform for communication and automated control.
When sewerage water in the tanks at these pumping stations exceeds the threshold level, the IoT devices will notify Delhi Jal Board staff. Satyendar Jain, Minister of Water, Government of NCT of Delhi said that the Delhi Government was determined to reforming the national capital’s water supply and sewer services, just as it had “changed” the health and education sectors.
