IMPHAL, Manipur: Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh, in an event organised by the Civil Service Organisation (CSO) of Thadou on June 10, announced various developmental projects for the Kangpokpi district of Manipur.
Thadou Community, which is an indigenous tribal community of Manipur, facilitated CM Singh headed state administration for securing a victory in the 12th Legislative Assembly elections, 2022.
At the event, CM Singh announced several developmental projects for Kangpokpi district. He mentioned the construction of market sheds at Keithelmanbi and Saparmeina, a suspension bridge at Yangkonpao, transforming the Kangpokpi-Tamenglong stretch into a National Highway and making a new stretch connecting Omega school in the next 15 days.
The Thomas Ground, where the facilitation ceremony was held, will also be improved at a total cost of Rs 9 crores. The development work of the Thomas Ground includes building a football ground, a multipurpose hall and a compound wall, which is to be completed within the next three months.
The development of sheds at Keithelmanbi and Saparmeina will cost up to Rs 20-30 lakh per unit, based on the number of street vendors as announced by the CM. He also assured the people about building a hostel at the Kuki Football Academy and a playground at Konsakhul, for which Rs 75 lakhs have been sanctioned.
CM Singh posted on his Twitter account, “Development of Thomas Ground, Market sheds to be constructed at Keithelmanbi & Saparmeina. Suspension bridge at Yangkongpao. Kangpokpi-Tamenglong road to be converted into a National Highway soon. The road towards Omega school will be constructed in the next 15 days”.
